Why Does Looking for Success Make You Unsuccessful?

When I was child, I always see success on having great achievements in school, graduating with Latin

honors, owning a fancy car, living in a mansion and earning big amount of money. Getting all those stuff

at a young age. However, it turns out that the success I see when I was young is the success that I should

not dream alone at all. That is how many people failed in being successful. They focus on achieving and

triumphing.

In everyone's success story, success becomes their enemy and excellence begins to befriend with,

because failing makes them frustrated when they do not achieve their goal. Yes, you have read it right, it

is excellence. Look for excellence on your journey, and try to set aside success. All successful man fails,

and they used that failure as a part of the learning process.

Now, as I get older, I see success in a wide variation. It can be in healthy body, peace of mind, improving

economic status in life, or healthy relationship with your love ones. Success is subjective, and I do dream

less of being successful at this moment. For now, I chase excellence little by little. I start investing on

things that makes me excellent like reading books, writing essays, aerobic exercising, and healthy eating.
